SKIN DEEP

Beauty companies are focusing their energies on eco principles while trying to make us look good, and what makes the newly launched Savane Organic Skincare range even more attractive is that it is inspired by our own continent with its ingredients sourced from our soil.

Madagascan-born French national Stephan Helary, who has experience with the biochemistry of African, indigenous plants, and Harvard-educated Jennifer Peters, who has developed health products for rural communities, have channeled their collective expertise into creating a socially responsible luxury skincare range based in SA.

The result is an initial offering of six products, including a cleanser (made with aloe ferox, rooibos and moringa), an exfoliant (rooibos, marula and jojoba) and anti-aging lift serum (kigelia, baobab and buchu) – all made with sustainably harvested wild ingredients that have not been tested on animals.
