We’ve chosen aluminium packaging because it is unbreakable, light-weight, endlessly recyclable and protects our certified organic formulations from UV light. While aluminium takes a lot of energy to make, it uses only 5% of this energy to recycle. Also because it weighs so little, fuel consumption is greatly reduced when transporting. All our packaging has been approved by Ecocert as safe and eco-friendly.
Wherever possible we’ve also done away with outer packaging. To reduce our use of paper, our bottles have no outer boxes. Where the use of paper or cardboard is necessary, we’ve chosen recyclable cardboard or locally sourced paper made from renewable sugar cane pulp.
While recycling is often presented as a simplistic solution to saving the planet, we know sometimes it’s a mission. To encourage the process we’ll do the dirty work for you. Whenever you buy a new Savane product you have the option to hand in your empty product. Not only will we make sure that everything is recycled or reused as it should be, we’ll discount your next purchase. It’s our way of saying “Thank You”.
Our website is designed with a black background. Since a black screen is the general “off” condition of an electronic monitor, it uses less energy and is therefore considered “greener” than a white or other coloured screen.
