Baobab fruit extract is found in our Serum and Moisturiser. Our Baobab fruit powder is fair-trade certified and sustainably wild harvested by farmers in Malawi as part of a community empowerment project.

The Baobab tree (Adansonia digitata) grows in hot, dry lowland areas such as the Rift Valley, Northern Namibia, Northern Botswana, and along the borders of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. Seven species of Baobab grow in Africa. Six are native to Madagascar and one to mainland Africa.

Baobab fruit powder is used to make a popular, refreshing, sherbet-like drink, and as a fermenting agent in traditional brews. The powder is also used in cooking and baking, while the leaves are often eaten fresh.

BAOBAB AS A SUPER-FRUIT
Baobab fruit is highly nutritious and forms part of the staple diet for many Africans: it has more antioxidants than goji berries, more calcium than milk, more iron than red meat, more potassium than a banana and more magnesium than spinach!
