Yangu oil is found in our Moisturiser. We get our certified organic Yangu oil from the Rift Valley in Kenya.

Yangu (Calodendrum Capense), or Cape Chestnut, are large trees that occur along the Southern and Eastern coasts of Southern Africa, extending up into the tropics and as far as Tanzania and Ethiopia.

Yangu bark is sold in street markets as “white umemezi” - a paste used for a clear, smooth complexion. Oil obtained from the crushed and boiled seeds is also used to make soap.

LUCKY SEEDS
The Xhosa believe that the seeds have magic properties. Hunters used to tie them around their wrists when hunting to bring them skill and good luck.
