Manketti oil is found in our Face Oil and Moisturizer. The Manketti we use is fair-trade certified and sustainably wild harvested by farmers in Northern Namibia as part of a community empowerment project.

Manketti trees (Schinziophyton rautanenii), also known as Mongongo, grow in Namibia, Angola, Botswana and up to Mozambique.

Manketti nuts have been used by the !Kung bushman of the Kalahari for over 7,000 years. The egg-shaped, red-brown Manketti fruits contain a thin layer of edible flesh around a hard stone. Inside this stone is a tasty and highly nutritious nut similar to an almond that, when pressed, yields the Manketti oil. This oil is used to cleanse, moisturise, and protect skin against the harsh desert environment.
